Work On New Industrial Units Well Underway

Work on new industrial units at Hillend and Donibristle Industrial Estate (HADIE) in Dalgety Bay is moving forward and Fife Council is hoping they will soon be occupied, bringing new businesses to the area.

This project has been made possible through the work of the Longannet Task Force, which has secured funding from Scottish Government Local Economic Development Capital Stimulus Fund and the Big Lottery Coastal Communities Fund respectively.

Convener of the council's Economy, Tourism, Strategic Planning and Transportation Committee Cllr Altany Craik joined Convener of South West Fife Area Committee Cllr Alice McGarry at the site to check on progress.

Six units are being built, along with an access road, car parking and landscaping. The units range in size, providing a total 800 sqm (8,611 sqft) of new business space to help meet demand in the local market.

Since the closure of Longannet Power Station in 2016 the council has been working with partners to help the economic recovery and regeneration of South West Fife. It's hoped 35 new jobs will be created as a result of this investment.

Enquiries on pre-letting are welcomed via business.property@fife.gov.uk
