Glacier Energy Services (GES), a specialist energy services firm is boosting its presence in Fife after seeing rising orders in its heat exchange business.

The group’s heat exchange business, which moved into premises at St David’s Business Park in the Fife town last June, is on a recruitment drive for 11 new positions in Fife, ranging from receptionist to quality manager and offshore technician.

Despite the dramatic oil price fall of recent months, Glacier’s heat transfer division managing director Jim McAleese said the firm is continuing to see demand for its services increase. “Inspection, repair and maintenance activities on existing assets remain active. These new posts will help us meet consistent demand from operators and asset owners,” said Mr McAleese.

Business Gateway Fife was Glacier’s first point of contact early 2014. Glacier Energy Services benefitted from the Fife Investment Fund with the support of Invest in Fife. The Invest in Fife team successfully assisted Glacier identify and secure a suitable property in Dalgety Bay and supported subsequent planning issues. The team also provided a similar service when Glacier acquired PTS, assisting with their move into their new premises at Methil Docks Business Park.

Councillor Laird said, “They are a great example of how the council can work together to help businesses, big or small, arrive and thrive in Fife.”
