Fife Council positive about 1050MW Inch Cape Offshore Wind Farm

James Wright, a planner at Fife Council’s Department for Enterprise, Planning and Protective Services, has recommended that the North East Fife councillors support the Inch Cape offshore wind farm.

Fife councillors have given their blessing to Repsol and EDPR’s 1050MW Inch Cape offshore wind farm off the east coast of Scotland. Members of the North Fife planning committee agreed a positive report from council officials at a meeting in Cupar yesterday (7 May 2014).

Some specific concerns were, however, highlighted in the areas of archaeology and ecology. Councillors also put forward motions seeking ongoing communication with the local fishing industry and surveys of existing species in the wind farm area.

Inch Cape will be determined by Scottish ministers based on the recommendations of planning body Marine Scotland.
