Famous Harvard Philosopher visits Kirkcaldy to deliver Adam Smith lecture

Professor Michael Sandel visited Kirkcaldy to give the Adam Smith Lecture in the theatre that bears the Kirkcaldy-born economist’s name.

Professor Michael Sandel, political philosopher and professor at Harvard University in the US, has been described as “the most relevant living philosopher” and “most famous teacher of philosophy in the world”.

The room was filled yesterday as Professor Sandel delivered "What Money Can’t Buy: the Moral Limits of Markets", to guests, pupils, Fife College students and the general public.

The event was organised by Kirkcaldy’s Ambitions, a partnership that includes Fife College, Adam Smith Global Foundation, Fife Council, Fife Cultural Trust and Kirkcaldy4All.
