£86M Diageo extension creates new jobs in Fife

FIFE COUNCIL’S Levenmouth Area Committee granted Diageo planning permission for the proposed 16,500 square metre extension to their Leven plant. Diageo will invest £86 million to extend their bottling facility at Leven and have indicated that this will support the creation of over 400 new jobs in Fife. The company has indicated that subject to obtaining all the necessary approvals, it would hope to start construction within the next two months.

The Fife Economic Strategy outlines a number of priorities to support sustainable business growth over the next decade. Developed by the Fife Economy Partnership, a group of Fife’s major employer’s and public agencies, the Strategy offers a unique business-led response to improve competitiveness and productivity, particularly in the area of enterprise development and knowledge transfer activities.
